Roof Brokers of NEPA was created due to the influx of unqualified roofers and overpriced roof replacements. I got fed up with seeing poor workmanship and severely overpriced roofing from misleading salesman. Although it is undeniable the cost of a roof replacement has significantly increased over the last five years, there are still reasonable and qualified roofers out there. With my 10 years of roofing experience in NEPA, I know the roofers you want to do the job and also the roofers you should stay away from.

After graduating Penn State in 2010 I went to work for a small start-up in King of Prussia negotiating out of network health insurance claims. I couldn’t sit in a cubicle anymore from 9:00-5:00 so in 2015, I started as a Catastrophe Insurance Adjuster for Liberty Mutual/Safeco Insurance. Traveling around the country I inspected wind and hail claims. This opened my eyes to the roofing and the insurance world. Inspecting, writing estimates, and dealing with roofers on over 2,500 claims I decided to be closer to home.

In 2018 I joined Sedgwick as an independent insurance adjuster. I worked for multiple insurance companies settling claims in the Philadelphia area.
I enjoyed roofing claims, inspecting for damage, leak detection, manufacturing defects, or if the roofer did a bad job. A position to be a roofing consultant opened up back in NEPA for Hancock Claims Consultants. This position only inspected roofs for multiple insurance carriers in NEPA. There were several hail storms in 2018/2019 so I stayed very busy with over 1,000 inspections completed. This allowed me to meet the local insurance adjusters and the local roofing contractors.

I met with a local roofing contractor who had a very good reputation and needed assistance with insurance claims so I made the decision to join Smith and Miller Roofing. It was the best decision I ever made at the time. I was able to help customers with their insurance claim and get their roof replaced at no charge other than a deductible.
